Brief
About The Project
Established in 1922, Nutscene has been a pioneer in twine manufacturing, earning the trust of gardeners, crafters, and hobbyists worldwide. Renowned for their quality, Nutscene’s products are often imitated but never replicated. They continue to use traditional methods and machinery to produce twine, which is available online, through stockists across various continents, and at prestigious events such as the Chelsea Flower Show.
When Nutscene approached us, they had a well-established Shopify website that was in need of modernisation. The previous design was based on a third-party Shopify theme that had become outdated and was no longer aligned with the latest Shopify architecture. After consulting with the client, we agreed that the best course of action was to redesign the website using a fresh theme from the official Shopify store.

Our Design Process
We began by selecting a theme that closely resembled their previous design. This dark theme provided a solid foundation for our design team, who customised the homepage with new blocks and features made possible by the modern Shopify theme.
With all the necessary content, images, and product data already in hand, we were able to move quickly, customising the additional pages to fit the new style. Once this work was complete, we shared a preview of the redesigned website with the client, allowing them to provide feedback on the overall look and feel. This stage also enabled us to finalise finer details, such as selecting the best images for the homepage banner and collection blocks, ensuring that their most striking visuals were prominently featured. Additionally, we assisted Nutscene in migrating their mailing list from MailChimp to Shopify Email, helping them reduce costs associated with email marketing.

Results
Project Completion & Launch
After incorporating the final changes, we presented a final preview to Nutscene for their approval before launching the new site.
Overall, we completed the project within a matter of days, ensuring Nutscene could quickly resume operations with their refreshed online presence. Since the launch, we’ve been pleased to see improvements in key metrics, such as increased time on page and a smoother user purchasing journey, thanks to our strategic enhancements to website navigation. We continue to collaborate with Nutscene on other projects, including Sheilamaid.com and their wholesale website.
